Artists Residency

From April 2009 to September 2010, Field was a resident organisation at local arts charity Area 10. This allowed invited artists access to communal studio space, with an additional 25,000 sq ft warehouse space available for large scale projects. With the help of Area 10, Field has facilitated 40 artists to date in making new work for career-launching shows.

All artists exhibiting at our project space, located at the Bun House, Peckham, are offered a short term residency in the lead up to their show. Several artists have taken part in these residencies, establishing both the project space and Field as an arts group continuing to show new and innovative work.

We also organise arts residency exchanges with other organisations in the U.K and Europe. This summer eight artists from Field were involved in the first part of an exchange with Generator projects, Dundee, Scotland. The second part of which will see twelve emerging Scottish artists making work and exhibiting with us in the first 4 months of 2011. In November 2010 five took part in a residency in Northern Ireland organised with Catalyst Arts, Belfast.

We are currently looking for a new premises to run our next set of residencies including the beginning of an artistic exchange with a group of established Polish artists and the CSW gallery, Warsaw.
